Coming Home!

We brought Cooper home on Wednesday, March 16th.  Sassie was there to greet us at our house and Gran came over shortly after to help get us settled.  We are so blessed to have so much help and the love & support of our families!

Sassie gave you your first bath once we got home and Gran & Sassie spent a few minutes figuring out how to load the Wipe Warmer so Cooper's little tush can stay nice and warm!

Molly spent a few seconds checking you out and quickly moved on to her own thing... but soon she would find out she was going to have to fight for her spot on the bed and in our laps!

We had some very special visits from friends wanting to meet Cooper and come by and check on us - thank you all!  Uncle Hampton "Tio", came up from Austin to meet Cooper and fell in love.  He even brought Cooper a special guitar footie pj's and thinks his fingers are perfectly long for guitar playing...

Cooper had his first family Hot Cake Breakfast that weekend at Sassie's house... We know there are many more to come and I can only imagine how much time I'll spend making batches and batches of hotcakes on the weekend's for cooper's friends if they are anything like Hampton's! And of course... Sassie finally got Cooper in the antique cradle she's been saving... note, the crying baby in cradle :)

We could not resist taking this quick pic of Cooper with Molly.  Now, I know Molly is slightly large, but she is not HUGE - Cooper is just so TINY!  Molly is finally checking him out, but still not very interested..

Cooper Snoozin!
At Cooper's first visit to see Dr. Milici, his weight was down and they wanted us to work on feeding him every 2 hours to help him gain it back faster since he was a bit behind.  After the weekend, we went by the Henry's for a visit and tried to figure out if you had gained any over the past few days by using their food scale and mixing bowl!

Cooper Graham Clifton

Cooper had several friends & family come visit   Baylor Hospital to meet him his first few days in this world. Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and visits! We were lucky Aunt Meg was in town for Spring Break and was able to meet Cooper since he arrived early! Cousin Sam was not feeling well, so Cooper is going to have to wait until later on to meet him.  Dad was busy trying to reschedule all of his business travel since we thought we had a few more weeks to go, but he was a huge help staying at the hospital and with you the entire time.  Baylor also had a photographer who came in and took a few snapshots of you for us to keep...

It's a Boy!

March 13, 2011
After about a week on bed rest and 2 trips down to Baylor... I knew something was different about that Sunday. I was following the rules and staying in the bed, but my bloodpressure was still high. We had an open house that afternoon and we did not want to miss an opportunity to sell... so, we packed ourselves up and headed to my parent's house to "bed rest" over there during the open house. Baby C had different plans and after some more high BP readings, we headed back down to Baylor (not without a stop off at the house for our bags during the middle of the open house!).
After arriving, the doctors suggested we get things started since this was trip #3 and they administered the cervadil. However, Baby C did not respond well to one major contraction and within minutes the room was filled with nurses and they told us "you're going to have a baby within the hour"! Baby C's heart rate dropped with that contraction and they did not think he or she would make it through labor so they wanted to move forward with a c-section. After walking ourselves to the OR and Jeff asking if we could load up his iPod in the OR (really?), I hopped up on the table for the epidural ready to get things started. After a few scares along the way (both my heart rate and Baby C's dropping and a cord tied around the baby's neck), the doctors moved quickly and within minutes we heard the good news..."It's a Boy!" Sassie, John (he's waiting for Baby C to pick his name), Gran & Pops were all waiting for the news and Jeff was able to bring them all back to the recovery room where we introduced little Cooper Graham Clifton to his new family. Weighing in at 6lbs, 3 oz and 18 inches long - just perfect! What an exciting day and special moment with the family!
