It's a Boy!

March 13, 2011
After about a week on bed rest and 2 trips down to Baylor... I knew something was different about that Sunday. I was following the rules and staying in the bed, but my bloodpressure was still high. We had an open house that afternoon and we did not want to miss an opportunity to sell... so, we packed ourselves up and headed to my parent's house to "bed rest" over there during the open house. Baby C had different plans and after some more high BP readings, we headed back down to Baylor (not without a stop off at the house for our bags during the middle of the open house!).
After arriving, the doctors suggested we get things started since this was trip #3 and they administered the cervadil. However, Baby C did not respond well to one major contraction and within minutes the room was filled with nurses and they told us "you're going to have a baby within the hour"! Baby C's heart rate dropped with that contraction and they did not think he or she would make it through labor so they wanted to move forward with a c-section. After walking ourselves to the OR and Jeff asking if we could load up his iPod in the OR (really?), I hopped up on the table for the epidural ready to get things started. After a few scares along the way (both my heart rate and Baby C's dropping and a cord tied around the baby's neck), the doctors moved quickly and within minutes we heard the good news..."It's a Boy!" Sassie, John (he's waiting for Baby C to pick his name), Gran & Pops were all waiting for the news and Jeff was able to bring them all back to the recovery room where we introduced little Cooper Graham Clifton to his new family. Weighing in at 6lbs, 3 oz and 18 inches long - just perfect! What an exciting day and special moment with the family!
