4th of July ~ Wimberley, Texas

Happy 4th of July!

What a great time to getaway with the family and enjoy some R&R!  We packed up the car again and yes, again, headed down towards Austin... Beginning to get a bit nervous Cooper may have some longhorns in his future vs. our Hogs :)

The Cude Family had enjoyed a special Labor Day weekend a few years ago down in Wimberly and decided this would be the perfect time to all get together and introduce Cooper to Wimberley & the Blanco River.  Hampton was able to get away from Austin for a bit, so we rented a house right on the river and packed it up for some relazation!  The house was absolutely perfect for family time, cooking together, reading books on the patio overlooking the 10 acres, watching deer and of course, a puzzle....   Once Sassie opended that thing up, we were consumed and spent the first 24 hours focused on finishing it!  Oh yeah, and somehow we timed our little trip perfectly with Wimberley's trade days (I think Sassie certainly knew this going into it -ha!)

Cooper had fun dipping his toes in the Blanco to cool off and then of course we made the trek on Sunday to the Salt Lick!  We spent Sunday night cooking out traditional 4th of July dinner and stayed up late playing poker.  The only thing missing was the 4th of July parade... it was pretty hot and right in the middle of Cooper's morning nap - so we will definitely have to make that next time - the square was decorated so cute!

Salt Lick!
